Volunteers Help Our School Thrive

The PTA would like to extend an enormous thank you to all our volunteers.  Whether you work in the classroom, tutor, volunteer on a committee or for an event—you name it—we can’t do it without you.  For this, we thank you. Part of what makes Lawton a successful school is the tremendous amount of family involvement – 12,341 hours (representing $185,115 [using the United Way's standard $15/hour rate.] ) during the 2010-2011 school year !

How Do I Volunteer? Who Can Volunteer?

There are many opportunities to volunteer at Lawton for parents and community members alike.  All volunteers at Lawton need to fill out a Volunteer Background Information check.  Please return your completed form to Lawton’s Volunteer Coordinator Theresa Hayes in the office.

How Do I Contact the Volunteer Coordinator?

The Lawton PTA works closely with our Volunteer Coordinator to meet the volunteer needs of the school.  You can contact Theresa by email at tmhayes@seattleschools.org.

What are Some Volunteer Opportunities?

Download a copy of our Share Your Passion ! form which has more detailed information about volunteer opportunities for both school programs and for PTA sponsored activities.  If you’re interested in volunteering for a specific PTA activity or event, please contact the committee chair below.  Volunteering in the classroom is coordinated by the classroom teachers. Volunteer needs also are also posted in the newsletter throughout the year.
