Shirley has taught children and adults in both public and private schools since 1987. She has a BA from Michigan State University, a Montessori credential from University of Puget Sound and a Masters degree in Instructional Strategies from Antioch University. She is an amateur naturalist and loves spending time at the beach or in the woods. She enjoys gardening, sailing and working on her home.
