Peter Hubbard is a veteran teacher in Seattle Public Schools and teaches 5th grade at Lawton Elementary. Over the years, he has been involved in many innovative school initiatives including creating a Young Inventors Network, founding the Green Team Network in Seattle Public Schools and helped launch Washington Green Schools. He believes that we should re-imagine schools by developing a more connected approach to learning. Connecting subject areas, students to the real world, and to each other will go a long way to developing a more compassionate school experience. He is also the creator of Tetragami, a paper folding design system which he uses to raise funds for various causes, especially building schools in Sierra Leone. He is looking forward to sharing this opportunity with the Compassionate Schools Network. Peter believes teachers are the foundation of a positive school experience and that their leadership is key to true school reform.
