Understanding Middle School Life – McClure – January 29, 6:30pm

Dear Parents of the Queen Anne and Magnolia Community!

Welcome potential Mavericks! We are pleased to be presenting the first evening of many at McClure Middle School where a panel of students, staff, parents, and administration will be present to answer any questions regarding your future middle school experience. The goal of this evening is provide opportunities to hear from students, staff, administration and central office regarding the qualities and attributes that McClure has to offer.

Additionally, all feeder elementary principals from your schools will be in attendance to also participate in developing an understanding of the challenges you see as families transitioning to middle school. We aim to develop a stronger community, awareness and expectations around a middle school experience that perpetuates developing all students to their fullest potential as we challenge and prepare them for their high school experience and beyond.

While we are encouraging 4th and 5th grade parents to attend, we also acknowledge that many parents are interested in understanding middle school life as they look at their own student’s path educationally. Any parent and/or student(s) are encouraged to attend this informational meeting and know that we are willing to provide many opportunities to share the realities, challenges, and learning that occur as a Maverick at McClure Middle School! Michael DeBell and Kay Smith Blum, School Board Directors, will also be invited!

This evening will begin at 6:30 PM in the commons on Tuesday, January 29, 2013. Treats and coffee will be available as well as Maverick gear!

Please let your principal know if you are planning on attending! We guarantee this night to be filled with great opportunity for understanding as we cultivate a community of excellence on Queen Anne and Magnolia!
